This quick Indian-inspired street snack combines tangy, spicy and fresh flavors in crisp lettuce cups. The bold taste of cilantro and dill brings a refreshing twist to the classic chaat experience.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas (canned or fresh)

  • 1 small tomato, chopped

  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala

  • A pinch of salt

  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (optional)

  • A few leaves of Lalique lettuce or Iceberg lettuce for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix chickpeas, tomato, onion, lemon juice, chaat masala and salt.

  2. Fold in chopped cilantro and dill.

  3. Spoon the mixture into individual lettuce leaves to form small cups.

  4. Add a small dollop of yogurt on top if using.

  5. Serve immediately as a snack or appetizer.
